How Should I Plan My Visits?

We recommend an initial consultation, allocate 90 minutes if a treatment is desired. Once your condition is relieved we recommend maintenance visits on a consistent basis to secure  your comfort and avoid your body defaulted back into old pain or disease patterns. Seasonal visits are important to help you know what moods, emotions, nutritional needs, decision-making strategies should be adhered to based on the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

I’m Not Certain Which Treatment is Right for Me

No problem. We will do an intake with you to determine your current state of health and what your goals are. Then we will offer treatment recommendations based on your lifestyle, budget, and interests (or aversions) in specific modalities.

Are Your Supplements the Same as the Ones at the Retail Stores?

No. We sell prescription-grade supplements containing pure, high quality ingredients to clients that have had a complete medical intake. The supplements are prescribed as a component of a complete health program for the primary care, prevention, and treatment of our clients.


How big are the needles?
Acupuncture needles are metallic, solid, hair-thin. They are also sterile and disposable.
Does Acupuncture hurt?
Some people experience acupuncture differently, but most people agree that they feel little to no pain when the needles are inserted.  The needles can be quickly adjusted if you feel discomfort.
What should I expect during my Acupuncture visit?
Your practitioner will ask you many questions about your lifestyle and past/present conditions you may have. Your practitioner will want a complete picture of you treatment needs, and sharing your medical history and concerns are very important in treating you as a whole.
How should I dress?
Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes. In most cases, acupuncture points can be accessed by pulling up sleeves and pant legs.

Bodywork and Massage

Where will I get my bodywork or massage?
Your session will take place in a calm comfortable room, on a table designed for your comfort. If you prefer a same-sex practitioner just let us know when booking your appointment. During the session we are glad to accommodate your preferences in music volume, lighting, heat, and level of hand pressure being applied.
What do I wear during my bodywork or massage?
Keep your under garments on if that makes you feel more comfortable but take off any clothes with zipper, buttons, or snaps. Whatever you are wearing, the practitioner will keep you draped with a sheet for modesty and warmth, exposing only the area being worked on. Your therapist will give you time and privacy before and after the session to dress.


Do I need to see my Dr. before seeing a Chiropractor?
No.  Doctors of Chiropractic (DC) are primary health providers and are licensed to practice.
Can Chiropractic care hurt me?
Chiropractic care is safe, non-evasive and effective. In the United States there are 1 million chiropractic treatments given every day and complications are exceedingly rare.
I’m pregnant, can I still see a Chiropractor?
Of course, it’s a great time to start seeing a Chiropractor. Many pregnant women find adjustments improve their pregnancy and make delivery easier.  Methods are always adapted to a patient’s size, weight, height, age and health condition.


Are my sessions confidential?
As a patient, you are guaranteed the protection of confidentiality within the boundaries of the client/counselor relationship.  The only limitations to confidentiality occur when a client is either a threat to themselves or someone else, or when legal requirements demand that confidential information be shared.

Gift Certificates

Can I purchase gift certificates for 9 Corners services?
Treat friends and family, new moms, newly weds, birthdays with a gift of health. Gift certificates let your loved-ones choose the treatments they enjoy. We offer gift certificates of any denomination.  You can call ahead of time and have them ready for pick up, come in the office and buy them, or order them over the phone and have them mailed to you or the recipient. Our gift certificates are beautifully designed and will make a great gift anytime of the year. Gift Certificates are not redeemable for cash and not applicable to prescription supplements as payment.


What kind of insurance do you take?
It depends on which practitioner you are seeing.
To ensure your needs are met, please confirm with the office staff that your insurance or worker’s compensation policy will be accepted by the practitioner you will be seeing. Superbills can always be provided for insurance reimbursement or tax purposes. Private paying clients are always welcome.


What kind of payments do you accept?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Check, HSA, Gift Certificates, and cash. There is a service charge of $25 for returned checks.

Product Refunds

You can exchange unopened products within 14 days of purchase with your receipt. Regretfully we cannot exchange opened products.


How should I tip?
Tipping is not required nor expected as our practitioners are members of the medical community; quite different than spas, healthclubs, etc. So don’t feel obligated, however, some clients wish to extend their gratitude in an monetary way and are welcomed to do so.


What if I need to cancel?
We’d be happy to help reschedule, but please make cancellations at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time. To cancel, please call the concierge at 415.209.9600 and be sure to leave a message if no one is available.
